“18 Greatest Golf produces beautiful limited edition volumes, featuring fabulous photography, illustration and clever, careful design. The books are printed and hand-finished by arguably the world’s best print shop, EBS in Verona. How then to translate these objets d’art to the digital world?
Amber Bird was able to brilliantly transform our work into something equally lovely but electronic. In creating the full photographic versions she was able to maintain our existing designs and make them work for all digital devices. Amber also created simple text only versions of our books as well as standalone versions of individual chapters, all served up in the various formats for the key ebook platforms of Amazon, Apple and Barnes and Noble. She’s very professional, very talented and comes highly-recommended.”
Craig Morrison, Publisher, 18 Greatest Golf.

Craig from 18 Greatest Golf approached me with his project of converting two books that his company has published in hardback format into digital eBook formats of .ePub and .mobi. Craig wanted full photographic editions and full text only versions of each book for the iBookstore, Amazon Kindle Store and Barnes and Noble and text only and full photographic versions of each individual chapter for the Amazon Kindle Store (32 chapters in total.) The eBook market has seen spectacular growth over the last few years so it made sense for 18 Greatest Golf to want to target the digital market too.

I had no experience with eBook creation prior to this project so a lot of research was done on the best way to start and tackle the conversion. Luckily the project was fairly smooth sailing although there were a couple of hiccups over the format and displaying of the books on the Kindle Fire but once all that was ironed out it turned out to be a fantastic project to work on and I learnt a great amount.

The books are available to download from the iBookstore, Amazon Kindle Store, and Barnes & Noble (coming soon).
